Family Planning & Contraceptive Services

All the doctors provide confidential contraceptive and emergency contraceptive advice to patients in all age groups. We have trained doctors who can fit coils (IUCDs) and contraceptive implants.  Gentlemen who wish a vasectomy can be referred to local services.

We have four family planning trained nurses who offer a comprehensive service and advice to both sexes. These nurses offer booked appointments but also run some “Drop In” clinics when an appointment is not necessary please see more details below.

The services they provide include:-

  • Contraceptive Advice
  • Cervical Smears
  • Well Woman Checks
  • Supply of Condoms
  • Pregnancy Tests
  • Menopause Advice
  • Emergency Contraception
  • Contraceptive Injections
  • Contraceptive Pill
  • Sexual Health Testing and Advice

For cervical smears and well woman checks an appointment must be booked as these services are not available during the “Drop In” clinics.
